VETERINARIANS
Dr. Ginger Reagan
Dr. Reagan, veterinarian and owner of Reagan Equine, is originally from Wilmington, NC and opened her practice in 2005. She graduated from NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.

Dr. Reagan worked for Palmetto Equine Clinic in Camden, SC, where she gained further experience in lameness and performance horse medicine. Simpsonville, Kentucky, became a “home away from home” as she spent time working with and learning from the expertise of Dr. Hugh Behling at Cross Creek Equine. She has a special interest in sports medicine and acupuncture.
Dr. Grace Scott
Dr. Grace Scott is originally from Reidsville, North Carolina. She grew up riding ranch horses and did cutting and team penning. Later, she began riding Saddle Seat with American Saddlebreds and competed across the south east including at the World's Championship Horse Show in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Scott received her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She then graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she focused on equine medicine. While in veterinary school, she worked part time in the large animal hospital as a veterinary assistant, caring for the equine and food animal patients. During her final year, she received the Matt Gerard Award for Excellence in Equine Dentistry. Her veterinary interests include sports medicine, general wellness, dentistry, and emergency medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Scott enjoys going on adventures with her yellow lab, Goose, riding horses, cooking, and watching Penguins hockey.
Dr. Charisse Lapointe
Dr. Charisse Lapointe is originally from Watertown, New York. She grew up riding Appaloosa horses and competed in gaming and pleasure events. After earning her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont, she completed a 6-month externship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dr. Lapointe graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. She then returned to Lexington, KY, to complete a field medicine internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Dr. Lapointe’s special interests include neonatology, reproduction, lameness, and emergency medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Lapointe enjoys hiking, kayaking, sailing, collecting houseplants, and spending time with her feisty cat, Boocifur.
Dr. Emily Gilmette
Dr. Gilmette grew up in Morehead City, NC, riding horses, running track, hunting, fishing, and playing on the water. After graduation from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007, she moved back to New Bern, NC to begin her equine general practice career. Dr. Gilmette established herself in the area and formed Eastern Equine Associates which has now become a part of Reagan Equine.
Dr Gilmette is excited to continue high quality general equine practice with a focus on her favorites disciplines - including dentistry, podiatry, and surgery. She also enjoys supporting equine rescue organizations and facilitating work with the wild horses of the outer banks.
